Pedigree Studies
We have a love for horses that goes beyond admiring their majesty and athleticism. We love pedigree research. We are fascinated with studying the pedigrees of winning horses and applying what we learn to the breeding of our own horses. While horses are partially a product of their environment, nothing matters more than good genes. We look at stallion lines and mare lines to try to focus on family lines that are successful as a whole, not just producing successful individual horses. We mate complementary family lines when it seems appropriate and outcross to completely different lines when that is appropriate.
Research
Our horses have been bred based on complementarity of family lines to eight generations and beyond. This method improves the probability of producing a successful sporthorse. We know that breeding can’t be left up to chance.
Genetics matter. The success of a horse is in the DNA of the parents and crossing that genetic material to have the biggest impact and greatest chance for resulting in top-quality offspring. We want the great names in your horse’s history to be a point of pride, since it speaks directly to the ability of the horse to learn and perform. We use a wide range of stallions for our mares and use an individualized approach to breeding.
Rearing
We pride ourselves on attention to detail. We are involved in every step of the process from researching family lines, planning the breeding, personally foaling out the mares, and handling the foals and teaching them age-appropriate skills.
We sell horses from weanlings to finished athletes and offer in-depth and individualized young horse training. We have also developed our own feed and supplement program that is individually tailored to optimize the nutrition needs of each horse in every stage of development. Our farm handles animals with care and integrity. We put a great deal of effort into producing excellent horses who have been treated well. Once a horse is ready to sell, we want it to go to the right home, not just anyone. We work with our clients to make sure the horse and client are the right match for each other. The goal is to produce a horse that you can be proud of and to establish lasting trust with our customers.
Results
Our goal is to breed top-quality highly athletic and highly trainable horses who will grow to be competitive in sports such as Three Day Eventing and Jumping for both the hunter and jumper rings.
